From the Washington Post:  An extended soaking lies ahead for the Pacific Northwest, where at least four episodes of rain and downpours will drench parts of Washington state, Oregon and Northern California over the next week.

It is all thanks to a series of “atmospheric rivers” that have been relentlessly targeting the area.  Localized amounts of rain topping five inches are possible in coastal Oregon by the middle of next week, while peaks in the Cascade range could wind up with multiple feet of snow.
